After looking at a house to list, Robert N. Hoff and I stopped at Philomena Egyptian Food for a late lunch. I had lamb shank, and Robert had macaroni bechamel. We shared tiramisu for dessert. .
So good! The falafel was perfect along with the pita and Egyptian salad inside. Topped it off with a tzaziki. The fries are also so good, thin cut with seasoning different than most other gyro spots. This spot is a gem off Tiny Town Road/Peachers Mill.
meat is so delicious, get the lamb! chicken is juicy and flavored. the seasoning is on point and the char from the grill is unmatched. so underrated. the owners are extremely down to earth. my fave
The falafel is incredible! Mediterranean and Egyptian food is always my go-to for great vegetarian options and this place is a fantastic addition to the list! They have plenty for meat eaters too, but the hummus and falafel are amazing — and they even have a falafel gyro, which I definitely need to try next time I come here
Lamb gyro was delicious! I’m a big fan of lamb and try gyros wherever I go—this one definitely hit the spot. The meat was flavorful and tender, and the pita was fresh. Service was friendly, and the place was clean (even the bathrooms, which is always a good sign). It’s family owned too, which I love supporting. Definitely worth a visit—give them a try!
The food was definitely worth the wait, they cook everything fresh and made to order. If you are interested in trying something different, you will love this place. The staff at the restaurant were really friendly and very helpful at explaining what each type of Egyptian dish was. Will definitely come back often.
The macaroni was so amazing and delicious. I wish everyone would order this ! The most comforting go to food ever! I have every Item on the Menu and I love everything you can tell that there is love from the heart and soul in the food!
Not a bad first experience. Despite being on the cooler side out, it was rather warm inside. Got a couple gyro sandwich combos. Not bad. Fries were decent and the pita was packed full of goodness! The meat didn’t taste authentic, but like it came frozen and then heated up. Flavor was great though. Their platters and dinner dishes looked amazing, so will def have to give those a try in the future. Another customer got the lamb and was raving about it.
